Q: What is a LabVIEW Champion?

A: LabVIEW Champions are credible technology experts from around the world who inspire others to learn and grow with LabVIEW through active technical community participation and face-to-face interactions.

Q: Why does this recognition exist?

A: National Instruments believes that a healthy, active user community is critical to helping customers maximize their solutions and benefits from LabVIEW. The LabVIEW Champion title is a way by which National Instruments recognizes those participants who have made a highly positive impact in the technical and product communities around them. National Instruments wants community participants and leaders to know that their contributions are greatly appreciated. The LabVIEW Champion title exists as a way to reach out to and thank outstanding members for their participation and willingness to help others in these communities, both online and offline, and also to provide them with the technical resources to help others in the future.

Q: How does National Instruments select and maintain the LabVIEW Champions?

A: LabVIEW Champions are selected in one of two ways. First, they may be nominated by National Instruments employees and other members within the LabVIEW Community. Secondly, they may apply online through the LabVIEW Champions website. Each year on May 1, all nominations and applications are collected and the directors of the LabVIEW Champions Program determine who will join and/or remain in the LabVIEW Champions Program for the coming year.

Q: Do LabVIEW Champions represent National Instruments?

A: No. LabVIEW Champions are not employees of National Instruments nor do they speak on National Instruments' behalf. LabVIEW Champions are third party individuals who have simply received recognition from National Instruments for their outstanding contributions to LabVIEW's success.

Q: Do LabVIEW Champions receive any payment from National Instruments?

A: No. The LabVIEW Champions Program does provide a small award of software and other benefits in its core program offering, but LabVIEW Champions do not receive any monetary payment from the LabVIEW Champions Program.

Q: What does National Instruments expect of its Champions?

A: LabVIEW Champions are expected to lead the LabVIEW Community through the questions they answer in technical newsgroups or message boards; the books and articles they author; the Web sites they manage; the blogs they maintain; the user groups they participate in; the chats they host or contribute to; the events and training sessions where they present, and most importantly through sharing their enthusiasm of LabVIEW with others.

Q: Can someone lose their LabVIEW Champion status?

A: In order to maintain the credibility of the LabVIEW Champions Program, there are times when individuals will lose their LabVIEW Champions status. If any particular Champion ceases to contribute to or participate in the LabVIEW Community, their status as a LabVIEW Champion will be taken away and they will no longer receive any of the program's benefits.

Q: How do I get the contact information of LabVIEW Champions?

A: While you can find a list of all current LabVIEW Champions here, we do not list contact information given privacy and security reasons.
