The Front Panel options are found in the Options dialog under the Front Panel category. These options provide the means to change some defaults to the Front Panel of VIs. Some of these options edit keys and values in the LabVIEW configuration file. The key that is changed is listed in parenthesis next to each description. These options include:

General

Tip Strips and Labeling

  • Toggle whether to show Tip Strips on Controls (showTipStringsOnFPControls)
  • Toggle locking of Label location (DefaultLabelLockFP)
  • Changing the default Label location for Controls {Classic, Top-left, Top-middle, Top-right, Right-top, Right-middle, Right-bottom, Bottom-right, Bottom-middle, Bottom-left, Left-bottom, Left-middle, Left-top} (DefaultLabelPositionFP)
  • Changing the default Label location for Indicators {Classic, Top-left, Top-middle, Top-right, Right-top, Right-middle, Right-bottom, Bottom-right, Bottom-middle, Bottom-left, Left-bottom, Left-middle, Left-top} (DefaultLabelPositionIndFP)

Control Style for New VIs

  • Changing the default style for new controls placed {Modern, Classic, System, Silver} (defaultControlStyle)
