LabVIEW Wiki makes it very easy to link wiki pages using a standard syntax (see [[Help:Links|Links]]). If you (or anyone else) creates a link to an article that doesn't exist yet, the link will be coloured red, <span style="color: #ba0000"><u>like this</u></span>. Clicking a red link, will take you to the edit page for the new article. Simply type your text, click save and the new page will be created. Once the page has been created, the link will change from <span style="color: #ba0000"><u>red</u></span> to <span style="color: #0645ad"><u>blue</u></span> indicating that the article now exists.

== Using the URL ==
There are multiple ways to create new pages on LabVIEW Wiki.
You can use the wiki's URL for creating a new page. The URL to an article of the wiki is usually something like this:
<code>

<nowiki>http://labviewwiki.org/wiki/</nowiki>'''ARTICLE'''</code><br>
=== Using Wikilinks ===

If you replace <code>'''ARTICLE'''</code> with the name of the page you wish to create, you will be taken to a blank page which indicates that no article of that name exists yet. Clicking the "''edit''" link available on that page will take you to the edit page for that article, where you can add the new page content by typing your text, and clicking submit.
[[Help:Links|Wikilinks]] are links that point to a page on the same wiki:

== From the "Search" results page ==
* Links to existing pages appear <span style="color: #0645ad"><u>blue</u></span>.
If you try to find an article page that doesn't exist (using the search box at the top of the page) then you will be provided with a link to create the new page.
* Links to non-existing pages appear <span style="color: #ba0000"><u>red</u></span>.

== Create redirects to your new page ==
The red link points to a ''create'' page with which the page can be created the same way as [[Help:Editing pages|editing existing pages]].
Don't forget to setup [[Help:Redirect|redirects]] when you create a page. If you think another person may search for the page you've created by using a different name or spelling, please create the proper redirect(s).

An Example of a redirect: [[labview]] --> [[LabVIEW]]
=== Using the URL ===

To create a redirect, the '''first line''' of the page should read
You can manually write the URL to create a new page: <code><nowiki>http://labviewwiki.org/wiki/</nowiki>'''PAGE'''</code>
<nowiki>#REDIRECT [[Destination]]</nowiki> where Destination is the page to which people should be redirected.  This must appear as the very first line of the page.

For more detailed information see [[Help:Redirect]]
Replace <code>'''PAGE'''</code> with the name of the page you wish to create and hit enter to access the ''create'' page with which the page can be created the same way as [[Help:Editing pages|editing existing pages]].

How to create pages?

There are multiple ways to create new pages on LabVIEW Wiki.

Using Wikilinks

Wikilinks are links that point to a page on the same wiki:

  • Links to existing pages appear blue.
  • Links to non-existing pages appear red.

The red link points to a create page with which the page can be created the same way as editing existing pages.

Using the URL

You can manually write the URL to create a new page: http://labviewwiki.org/wiki/PAGE

Replace PAGE with the name of the page you wish to create and hit enter to access the create page with which the page can be created the same way as editing existing pages.

From the "Search" results page

If a search finds no matches, LabVIEW Wiki automatically links to a create page with which the page can be created the same way as editing existing pages.
