A Corrective Action Report Number, or CAR Number, is used by National Instruments for tracking LabVIEW bugs. When you report a bug to NI (see LabVIEW Bug Reporting) you will generally be given a CAR number, so that you can track progress on your bug. Recently, NI has started listing the CAR numbers of bug fixes in the readme file included in LabVIEW releases.
