	I started my career in LabVIEW while I was a testing technician in a rechargeable battery research center in 1993. My then boss approached me and challenged me to develop a flexible and reconfigurable test system that we could maintain in-house. The problem at the time was the high cost of paying contractors to continuously modify and upgrade our existing test stations. Starting from a clean slate, I researched all the available options and came up with (you guessed it) LabVIEW. Well, needless to say I was hooked. I started my career in LabVIEW while I was a testing technician in a rechargeable battery research center in 1993. My then boss approached me and challenged me to develop a flexible and reconfigurable test system that we could maintain in-house. The problem at the time was the high cost of paying contractors to continuously modify and upgrade our existing test stations. Starting from a clean slate, I researched all the available options and came up with (you guessed it) LabVIEW. Well, needless to say I was hooked.

After a few months of programming, I ran into a few difficulties. The Web at the time was in its infancy and there were no support groups available. In an effort to get some help I learned that there were people working for Alliance member companies who actually programmed LabVIEW for a living! Wow, I thought that would be a great job to have. Well, one of those companies (Microsys) became my new employer. My career path was set and since then, using LabVIEW to develop automated test systems has become my focus.

I've worked on a plethora of automated test systems ranging from Automotive, Aerospace and RF\Microwave test systems. I also changed employers and in 1998 worked for the now defunct Datappli. In 2000, I was one of 4 partners that founded mmWave Integrated Solution Inc. We are an Alliance member company that started developing RF\Microwave solutions and have now expanded into the automotive sector with a focus on machine vision.

I enjoy what I do and I use my experience to help others who are just starting out with LabVIEW. I'm a developer in OpenG and I maintain several LabVIEW related websites such as the LAVA Forums where developers can exchange ideas and discuss advanced LabVIEW topics. I teach data acquisition concepts at Humber College in Toronto and I organize local LabVIEW user group meetings. I presently live in Mississauga, Ontario with my wife Merlyn and my two kids Jasmine and Alexander.
